In 1966, Capitol Records’ Alan Livingston discovered the phenomenon of Sandler & Young during one of their performances at the world’s swankiest nightclub, the Persian Room in New York City. Sandler & Young signed with Capitol shortly after that and went on to record ten albums at the new Capitol Tower in Los Angeles. Tony Sandler recently transferred and restored the original vinyl, and released them in a Collector’s Package – a 10-CD Box Set called Sandler & Young, Those Capitol Recording Stars. The BEST OF SANDLER & YOUNG – DISC One is a sampling from that collection of 110 songs, featuring 12 of Tony Sandler’s favorite Sandler & Young recordings with Capitol Records.
